On the night of Furthur's November 10 Madison Square Garden show, 10,000 Deadheads will take over Occupy Wall Street according to a recent Facebook page. The event was created in an attempt to motivate Deadheads and other music lovers to get more involved in politics and the current protest situation going on in New York City and various cities across the globe.

Although there isn't much information on the event page, there have been daily posts and updates from all sorts of news sources like the Huffington Post, OccupyTogether.org and YouTube. So far, only slightly over 1,200 people have "liked" the page.

Over the weekend, Furthur, the greatest "cover" band gracing the stages today, announced a string of dates throughout the western United States with stops at iconic venues that were seemingly created for a live Furthur experience, including the storied Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO.

Furthur, featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead, will begin their fall western tour with three nights at the Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene, OR before heading further south for multiple night stints at Red Rocks, The Greek Theater and the Monterey County Fairgrounds.

If you have never had the chance to catch Furthur before in the live setting, do yourself a favor and make it out to one of these historic venues and witness some truly great musicians who have had such a great influence on our scene. Besides Lesh and Weir, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and drummer Joe Russo make up an excellent percussion section and lead singer John Kadlecik channels Jerry Garcia in a manner that is unrivaled.
