The interactive concert experience is back! Umphrey's McGee has announced that UM Bowl III will be returning April 27 at Park West in Chicago, Illinois. This year, they have added some "special teams" options to the ballot including instrument switches and unexpected duos or trios.

For each "quarter" of the show, the fans will have a unique opportunity to affect the playing. Ticket buyers will be sent ballots for their input. The first quarter will be "all-request," with eight original songs as voted by fans via the ballot. Included are some rarely played gems, side-project favorites and dub or bluegrass versions of mainstay classics.

The second quarter will be completely improvised S2 performance where the audience texts in themes, songs, scenes and concepts that will be displayed on a screen behind the band in real time. Check out last year's "soaring, uplifting jam" for a taste of what they can churn out on the fly.

The theme for the third quarter of one of longest improvisational music game, will be "Choose Your Own Adventure."  Fans in attendance will be able to “[call] the plays” and "[quarterback] the music to unfold at your will” via text message after being given a number of choices.

The fourth quarter is a "Raw Stewage" segment where UM will improv their unique "Jimmy Stewarts" alongside other improvised material. It's improv inception - improv inside an improv linked by an improv.

Here is the original ad that was put up on Umphrey’s Facebook page during the halftime of the Super Bowl:

This event is one of the most creative and unique in the jam scene today and worth every penny. Ticketing and VIP information will be available next week so stay tuned.

And last but not least, Umphrey’s will be offering a live broadcast this Sunday, February 19 from the Canopy Club via iClips for $9.99.

\mm/ Rock on!
