This morning, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced their dates for the 2013 incarnation of the biggest annual music event on the West Coast. Sticking with the revolutionary formula that worked so successfully for them this past year, organizers will be bringing the fest back to Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA for two consecutive weekends in 2013, April 12 to 14 and April 19 to 21.
The 2012 event featured a stellar lineup complete with world-renowned rockers The Black Keys and Radiohead, electro-tastic DJs Swedish House Mafia, Justice and Avicii, and enough indie-love to keep even the hippest of hipsters happy.
Topping off each weekend was the heavyweight tandem of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, who recruited fellow rappers Eminem, 50 Cent, Warren G and a hologram Tupac Shakur to create a mind-blowing hip-hop show unlike any other.
Advance passes for 2013 will be going on sale from Thursday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT to Thursday May 24 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. This advance sale will be the only opportunity to take advantage of the Coachella Purchase Plan, described on the Coachella website as "new for 2013, the price you see is what you pay - prices reflect all fees included." The general on-sale will happen early next year.
Considering the recent extreme demand for Coachella passes (both weekends sold out within a week in 2012), this advance sale is a welcome option for die-hard fans who are already planning their 2013 adventure. Stay tuned for more information as it is released.
