Yesterday, Michigan's Electric Forest Festival announced that Beats Antique, Papadosio and The Nadis Warriors will be joining String Cheese Incident, STS9, Bassnectar, Thievery Corporation and many more for the sophomore installment of the festival.
Taking place from June 28 to July 1 at the famed Double J Ranch in Rothbury, MI, EF also added electronic acts GRiZ, R/D, Paul Basic and The Coop to an already stacked bill. One of the benefits of a festival the size of Electric Forest is that while they do draw larger, more "mainstream" acts in order to cater to a wider variety of fans, they also have the ability to draw in top-quality up-and-coming acts like the ones mentioned above.
A few years ago Beats Antique was one of those acts, frequently playing late-nights after STS9, Bassnectar and other rising stars. Today, Beats Antique sits much closer to the top of festival lineups, not so far behind the likes of Tribe and Mr. Ashton.
So if you make it out to the Forest, do yourself a favor and catch some of these acts in more intimate crowd settings while you still can - it won't be too much longer until you're squished in a packed house, as the electronic awakening continues.
For the full lineup head over to our 2012 Festival Guide. Tickets are available now for $242.50 via the festival's website.
