Summer Set Music and Camping Festival Announces Inaugural Lineup feat. Pretty Lights, Umphrey's, Big G; Utilizes Puns
- Published on May 22, 2012
- By AUS10B
The first annual Summer Set Music and Camping Festival, taking place just as summer festival season draws to a close from August 24 to 26 in none other than Somerset, WI (we chuckled as well) - announced its full lineup today with Pretty Lights, Umphrey's McGee and Big Gigantic topping the bill.
In the same vein as Atlanta's CounterPoint Music Festival, Summer Set combines the leading names in both electronica and hip-hop, with legendary hip-hop artists NaS and the seldom-seen duo Black Star, comprised of Mos Def and Talib Kweli, both making appearances.
Stacked with heavy-hitters from EDM, this festival that seemingly came out of nowhere looks promising with Lotus, Excision, MSTRKRFT, Zed's Dead, Yelawolf, MiM0SA, Rebelution, Infected Mushroom, AraabMuzik, Bonobo, Emancipator, GRiZ, RJD2 with Break Science, Paper Diamond, Tea Leaf Green, Two Fresh and Lo Bounce also on the bill.
Full lineup and ticketing information is available now via the festival's official website or in the graphic above. Tickets are on sale now for only $75.00 for full three-day event passes. Camping and parking will run an extra charge at $100.00 and $50.00, respectively.
Austin City Limits Festival Taps RHCP, Neil Young, Bassnectar, Umphrey's McGee, Big Gigantic
- Published on May 22, 2012
- By AUS10B
Austin City Limits Music Festival announced the lineup for its 11th annual installment with The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Neil Young and Crazy Horse joining previously revealed headliners The Black Keys and Jack White.
After teasing Austinites with lineup clues over the past four days via scratch off "Lottery Tickets" - revealing five bands each day, with proceeds of the tickets benefiting local Austin businesses - festival organizers C3 Presents unleashed their massive lineup early this morning at 12:01 a.m. CDT.
Joining the aforementioned headliners are mainstream acts and perennial festival top-billers Florence + The Machine, The Avett Brothers, The Roots, The Shins, Weezer, Thievery Corporation, and Umphrey's McGee, who are making their first appearance at the storied festival.
Given that between 70,000 and 80,000 people will flock to the lush, green lawns and riverfront views of Austin's Zilker Park this October 12 to 14, the lineup features a wide array of genres with some of the best in the business in blues, indie, pop, rock, bluegrass and electronic music littered throughout.
Each year, festival organizers consistently show a knack for snagging non-conventional and up-and-coming national and international talent, as evidenced this year by the presence of punk icons Iggy and The Stooges, Australian sensation Gotye and Minnesota's best kept secret, Polica.
Electronica fans will get their fill of top-notch talent with super-producers AVICII and Bassnectar making appearances, as well as M83, Die Antwoord, Crystal Castles and Big Gigantic.
Full lineup and ticketing information is available via the festival's official website. Three-day passes go on sale today at 10:00 a.m. CT for $200.00, with single day tickets available for $90.00 each.
